India's Silver Moment Was Missing Something
Silver jewellery in India grew faster than almost any category in luxury retail. But every brand that arrived chased the same territory — minimal, light, fast-moving, designed to be stacked and forgotten.
Meanwhile, something different was happening in statement jewellery globally. Houses were building with titanium, aluminium, unconventional alloys — and the work was extraordinary. What set it apart wasn't the material. It was the geometry. The structural thinking. The obsessive detail in how a stone sat, how a gallery was built, how a form moved on the skin.
India has always understood that jewellery should make a statement. No one was making that statement in silver.
She Saw How It Was Made
Rashika spent over a decade inside the jewellery industry — not as an observer, but as someone who worked within it. She walked the floors of GEMS Geneva, the world's most important fine jewellery trade show. She spent time in Venice studying the jewellery houses of the old city. She moved through the retail floors of Dubai Mall and the narrow lanes of the Gold Souk, watching how pieces were presented, priced, and sold.
Closer to home, she studied the craft at its source — Zaveri Bazar in Mumbai, where India's jewellery trade runs, and Johari Bazar in Jaipur, where stone-setting traditions are centuries deep.
She witnessed manufacturing from the first sketch: design, wax carving, casting, stone sourcing, setting, polishing, finishing. What she understood, standing inside all of it, was where the real work happened — and that it had nothing to do with how rare the material was.
Silver and American Diamond. By Design.
Silver is the most workable precious metal for complex, sculptural forms. It takes detail that gold resists — sharper edges, finer gallery walls, deeper undercuts. For the kind of architectural jewellery Rudian is built around, silver is not a substitute. It is the correct choice.
American Diamond was chosen for one reason: design freedom. It allows larger spreads, bolder cuts, and the kind of high-impact brilliance that India's jewellery tradition demands — without any constraint on form or scale.
These decisions were made the way a structural engineer chooses materials: for what they make possible, not what they cost. Every piece is built on a silver foundation — finished in rhodium-plated silver or 18k gold vermeil depending on the design's character.

Before a single gram of silver is cast, every Rudian piece is specified at the level of international statement jewellery houses. Stone seat geometry, gallery construction, wall thickness, prong profiles, weight distribution, skin-contact surfaces — each defined at the design stage and held to a written standard across every piece we make.
We build in three layers: a structural skeleton that carries all load, a visual form that creates presence without excess weight, and a surface layer — stone setting, plating, texture — that catches the light. This is how a piece can look like it weighs four times what it does, sit effortlessly on the skin, and hold its construction through years of wear.
Every piece is made to order — not pulled from stock, but made for the person who ordered it. The details you never notice are the ones we spend the most time on.
